French Beauty For Mike

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Customer Michael Madeley had a weeks session at Lake Molyneux in France recently and caught the 28lb 12oz mirror carp shown below. Mike was having a lot of trouble with aborted takes and tried lots of different tricks to cure the problem. Eventually he lengthend the hair and had the mirror almost immediately. He was fishing Korda Subline to a gravel spot at 80yrds. Mikes’ rig was tied with Kryston Super Mantis to a size 6 Korda Kaptor Hook. Well done Mike.

Autumn Success

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

The autumn period has to be one of my favourite times of year for fishing. The leaves are falling off the trees, a lot of anglers start to stay at home due to colder conditions and the fish get on the munch before the impending winter, as this recent capture of mine proves during a session on one of my syndicates. Its a fish known as the “Dumpy Mirror” and weighed in at 34lb exactly. The fish fell to a corkball pop up fished on a Chod Rig consisting of an ESP Stiff Rigger Hook, Gardner Tripwire and 9 ft of ESP Original Camo Leadcore.

Get out there and bag an autumn whacker!

The huge mirror was caught on a 20mm boilie topped of with a piece of Enterprise Pop Up Sweet Corn. This was fished over a handfull of crushed boilies, pellets and sweecorn soaked in CSL liquid. Ashleys’ successfull rig was variation of a rig I showed him tied with 30lb GLT No Can See to a size 6 Gardner Longshank Incizor Hook tied blowback style with Solar Blowback Beads and Blowback Rings. Heres a nice common carp weighing in at 26lb 8oz. The fish fell to a snowman hookbait with a Solar Juicy Pineapple Fluoro pop-up topping the combination.
