New Products – Sticky Baits Bloodworm Bait Range

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

We now have the Sticky Baits Bloodworm Range in stock now and it has been doing really well for some of our customers. The Sticky Baits Bloodworm Boilies  contain both low temperature and soluble fishmeals, plenty of fresh bloodworm, blood plasma as well as a specially imported. To raise the attractor profile Robin Red and Paprika are also included at the optimal level. We have the bloodworm boilies in both Freezer and shelf life. To compliment the boilies we have the Sticky Baits Bloodworm Pop Ups and Sticky Baits Bloodworm Dumbells. For those of you that use sticks the Bloodworm Bag & Stick Mix contains much higher levels of the soluble ingredients than can be used in the boilies themselves resulting in really high levels of attraction around your hookbait. To increase that attraction even further soak your hookbaits in the Bloodworm Bait Glug which contains a potent fish protein extract, Paprika oleoresin and not forgetting hydrolised bloodworm. The Bloodworm Bait Glug is really thick and Sticky!  If you are using the dumbells or boilie bottom baits, the Bloodworm Paste, which also contains higher levels of the soluble ingredients than the boilies, will boost your hookbaits attraction even further. It could also be a great stalking hookbait in its own right. Finally we have the Sticky Baits Bloodworm Pellets which are one of the best selling specialist pellet of all time. The bloodworm content has been increased and the Hydrolysed Bloodworm Compound has now been added making this pellet even more potent. New Products – Nash IC-1 & Gardner Covert Chod Hooks

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Some more new products now. From Nash Baits we have the new Nash IC-1 Boilies  now in stock these have a curry/spicy flavour and are suitable for year round use. We have them in both freezer and shelf life and I’m sure they’ll be really popular. From Gardner Tackle we have the new Gardner Covert Chod Hook which is plated rather than Teflon coated. We all know the problems with Teflon coated hooks, rust around the eyes, loss of hook point sharpness and increased diameter, well the unique Covert plating overcomes these problems and also increases camouflaging. For more information or to purchase please click on the above links.

One Step Closer To The Ghostie

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Little David has sent in a catch report.

I have just returned from quite a hectic session at Welham lake where I’ve got my first season ticket on the lake and decided to test it out as I had high expectations for it this winter having already lost possibly the biggest in the lake!.

I arrived later than I hoped on a Friday night due to homework (typical! My French teacher’s always had it in for me!)and when I arrived with this glum weather I had to set up my rods In a mad dash due to this I didn’t have much of a choice of swims so I decided to share a swim with my friend. After baiting the rods and putting out some bait I decided to speak to a few of the guys next door to me and they had told me that the biggest fish out the whole week had only been 12lb (Quite bizarre for that lake!)

Later on that evening after having some grub I stayed up late having a social with some of the guys, when I finally retired to the bag it wasn’t long before my left hand rod placed underneath an overhanging tree to the far bank that looked very ‘carpy’ ,had rattled off and a few minutes later after a very scrappy fight a new pb lay in my net, it took me a while to get my friend out of bed! But once he decided to shift we got the fish back safely all 16lb 5oz of it so I was pleased to say the least with the result. The rig I used was tied with Korda Hybrid Soft Coated Braid   to a size 10  Korda Longshank X Hook  . Baits were 15mm The Source  boilies plus some home made boilies. I hope to get a few nights down there this ever drawing closer winter in search of a biggun! ”

Quest For The Ghost

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Here’s a session report from little David who’s featured on the Carp Catchers Blog before.

“A couple of weeks ago I decided to give my rods a dabble at Welham lake as I was hoping to fish there this winter. After arriving I decided to fish peg 11 and started to spread 100 free offerings at 50yds range with Dynamite Baits  The Source Shelf Life Boilies after setting my traps over a shallow silt bed, all I had to do was sit back and wait for my alarm to scream into life. Whilst waiting for this “screaming take” I saw a gorgeous looking ghost carp patrolling round one of the lily pads to my right with a few hefty lookin mates too,I didnt have to think twice about moving over to peg 8 with the “carpy” looking lilys to my left this time finding much smoother patch with the marker doing the same again using my ever trusty Gardner Scorpion Stik  throwing out 100 free offerings, but this time a lot more spread out to get the carp moving more hopefully resulting in a take. A few hours past and I was starting to lose hope when suddenly that screaming take finally came. The minute I picked up the rod and started doing battle I could tell it was a big fish possibly one of the gorgeous looking mirrors I’d seen. After ten minutes the fish rose and I was amazed to see a golden carp on the surface heading towards my net, I lifted my rod ready to net my prize when Snap! then silence and after staring at my rod for a second I couldnt believe it the Big ,un had come off! After recasting my rod Ian and big David (Im little Dave!) came down and fished the swin next to mine,I told them about this beautiful ghostie on the end of my line. After having a talk with Ian and big David I decided to have a rig change and swapped to a size 10  Gardner Incizor  hook, hoping that the bigger hook would stick better in the fishes mouth an hour passed and it was time to go home, losing that fish was extremly frustrating but I was very happy to see that my tactics are working and I hope to reach my target by catching the big ghostie by next summer! I would like to say thank you very much to Ian and Big David they gave me some great advice both a couple of great fellas! I will try to keep you informed of my quest for the biggie im sure he’ll be in my net soon! ”

We’ll keep track of little Davids quest over the coming months.

John

Ian Hits Target

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Customer Ian Smith caught one of his target fish recently. Fishing a new water, Ian caught the magnificent common carp shown below after only a few nights. The common weighed 35lb 5oz, a little bit down on it’s normal weight. This is no doubt due to the good spawning weather we had a month or so back. Ian fished a light scattering of mixed sized Nash Scopex Squid Liver Plus Robin Red Shelf Life Boilies  to a silty area in open water. The rig Ian used was a 10”  Kryston Super Mantis hooklink tied to a size 6 Gardner Mugga  hook. The hookbait was a Nash Scopex Squid Liver Plus Robin Red  pop up fished an inch off the deck. This guy just keeps catching, well done Ian.

Quest Baits – New Products

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

The New Quest Baits range is now in stock. This Carp Catchers Blog will give a quick rundown of the products. Firstly we have the shelf life boilie range. The Rajah Spice  is proving very popular, based on a birdfood base with added robin red this is an all season bait with a lovely Indian curry smell. For those of you that like a fruity bait the Fruity Trifle  have a mixed fruit with cream smell and is also on a birdfood base. The Fruity Trifle feature a washed out red colour which may help to trip up those wary carp. The Surf ‘N’ Turf  has got loads of really sexy ingredients like Krill, low temperature fishmeals, anchovy extract, liver, caviar, meat products, and black pepper oil, but no added bulk oils so it can be used year round. Finally we have the  Liver B8 Boilies  which are a naturally dark brown colour and have a meat, liver, and blood base with no added bulk oils, making them an all season bait. The Liver B8 has no fishmeal in it, so if your water has been hammered on fishmeals this may be a good alternative. We also have the Quest Baits  pop ups in stock, The Fruity Trifle smell particularly nice and would be good for single hookbait fishing. To compliment the boilies we also have the Boilie Dip to match the above, which is highly concentrated so should be used as a hookbait booster and not a glug. To give your hookbaits a longer lasting boost, try the Quest Baits  pastes a really good edge in winter. For more Information or to purchase click on the above links.
