Kingfisher Thirty!
Sunday, July 3rd, 2011Heres a nice 33lb common carp caught by customer Gavin Mcmillan while on a trip to Bluebells notoriously difficult Kingfisher lake. The fish was landed using the ever popular Chod rig.

Carp In The Snow
Saturday, January 23rd, 2010At last! a catch report. Sean and Lea went carp fishing over the Christmas holidays on the Bluebell Lakes complex and were the only two there. Sean unfortunately didn’t have a sniff, but Lea had two jack pike and the very welcome mirror carp shown below. Lea’s mirror weighed 20lb on the nose and was caught on glugged Dynamite Baits Red Fish Pop Ups . Well done to both Sean and Lea on managing to actually getting out in the arctic conditions. Special congratulations to Lea though for getting the one we all want, a carp in the snow!!

Martin Again
Sunday, November 1st, 2009Martin Deathridge has been at it again catching this nice 34lb 5oz common carp from the Bluebell lakes complex. Martin used 18mm Mainline Cell Freezer Boilies at 120yrds range to tempt his fine catch. The rig Martin used was tied KD style with Korda Hybrid Soft to a size 6 ESP Curve Shanx . The hookbait was a snowman with a Mainline Cell bottom bait and a 10mm pineapple Mainline Hi Visual pop up. Well done, keep them coming. If you want to know how to tie the KD Rig see previous blog.

Mirror Carp Falls For Snowman
Monday, October 12th, 2009Martin Deathridge had a nice clean mirror carp from Bluebell Lakes Swan lake last week. Weighing 29lb 12oz Martins mirror was tempted from the edge of a weed bed at 70yrds range. Martin was using 18mm Mainline Cell Freezer Boilies scattered over a wide area. His hookbait was a snowman with a Cell bottom bait balanced out with a 10mm Mainline Hi Visual Pineapple Pop Up. The rig Martin used was tied with Nash Missing Link in 25lb tied to a size 5 ESP Curve Shanx hook. Nice one.

Ian’s Been At It Again!
Saturday, September 12th, 2009On a recent trip to Bluebell lakes, regular customer Ian Smith banked 4 carp from Sandmartin during a weekend session. Ian fished over silkweed in front of a thick weedbed at 70 yards to catch his fish. Using a mix of Sticky Baits Bloodworm Boilies and Dynamite Spicy Tuna and Sweet Chilli Boilies with Sticky Baits Bloodworm Pellets. The setups Ian used were 4oz leads on Nash Weed Safety Leadclips with rigs consisting of Nash Triggalink to 50lb Korda Armourbraid with a size 6 Nash Fang Uni Hook and Sufix Camo Skin with a size 6 Gardner Mugga Hook. The carp Ian landed weighed in at 14lb, 17lb 4oz, 25lb 14oz and 27lb 12oz. Well done again mate.

Another Common
Saturday, August 1st, 2009Have you noticed how many 30lb plus common carp are being reported to the Carp Catchers Blog? Anyhow customer Martin Deathridge fished an overnight session on Bluebell Lakes Swan lake recently and was rewarded with the 32lb 4oz common shown below. Using a new bait on test, Martin fished over light weed at 60 yards range. The rig Martin used consisted of a 12” Korda Supernatural Sinking Braid hooklink tied to a size 6 ESP Stiff Rigger hook. Martins hookbait was a snowman with a 10mm Hi-Viz Mainline Pop-Ups topper. Nice result for an overnighter Martin.

Chunky Common For Ian
Tuesday, June 16th, 2009Customer Ian Smith has been catching again. This lovely chunky common carp weighing 30lb 2oz was caught by Ian from the Bluebell Lakes complex recently. Ians’ rig consisted of a 10” ESP Striptease hooklink tied to a size 8 Korda Wide Gape X hook. Fishing over a bed of Nash Scopex Squid Liver Plus Robin Red boilies Ian popped a Nash Scopex Squid Liver Plus Robin Red pop up hookbait an inch off the bottom. Nice one Ian a real chunky one that.

Another 20 For Ian
Sunday, May 24th, 2009That carp catcher Ian has had hinself another 20 from Bluebell lakes. The 24lb 12oz mirror carp was caught over Ian’s usual bed of Mainline Activ-8 Response Pellets and Nash Scopex Squid Liver Plus Robin Red boilies. Ian’s rig included a 3oz Atomic lead and a size 8 Nash Fang Twister hook. Nice fish, keep catching ‘em fella .

Brace For Martin
Thursday, May 7th, 2009Regular customer Martin has had a bit of a lean spell recently, but his persistence paid off and it all came good at the weekend. Fishing Swan lake on the Bluebell complex Martin used inline running rigs and a new bait on test to tempt the nice brace of mirror carp shown below. The brace weighed 31lb 8oz and 18lb respectively. Martins snowman rigs were constructed from the new Korda Hybrid Soft and size 6 ESP Curve Shanx hooks.


Well done Martin, lets hope they keep coming.
