Top day ticket water Farlows Lake is facing closure again as the owner has has resubmitted plans to turn it and the adjacent canal into a marina. This is a very famous historic carp water, please help to save it by emailing Margaret Smith at smith@southbucks.gov.uk and letting the council know your thoughts. Please make you thoughts constructive and positive, as negative or abusive comments will be counterproductive. Farlows Lake is self funding and can be used by anyone whilst a marina I’m sure will be for the privilaged few. Please help to save Farlows Lake.

Sad news this time there has been a large fish kill at Frimly Pit 2. The losses are thought to have been due to deoxygenation as a result of ice. Fish of all species including roach, bream and carp have fallen foul of the terrible weather conditions. I myself lost two prized Koi Carp that have been with be for at least 20 years due to this global warming.

Anglers in the Colne Valley are worried about the governments plans for a new high speed rail link between London and Birmingham. The powers that be seem intent on pushing the plans through despite the downturn in the economic climate and swingeing cuts in public spending. One of the proposed routes would cut through the historic Savay Lake with towering aquaduct type tracks. This is bad news for all carp anglers as the Colne Valley is home to a lot of carp waters that form part of the history of our sport. If you want to help stop this colossal waste of taxpayers money and save our historic carp waters please follow the link and sign the petition http://www.gopetition.co.uk/petitions/stop-hs2.html

The Sirens screw in stainless steel snag ears ensure rock solid rod support and piece of mind when fishing to snags. There is no need for expensive Beta Lights with the Siren Bite Alarm as it has built in low intensity rod location illumination and a split prism illuminated roller wheel provides visual indication from any angle even on the brightest of days. The Nash Siren Bite Alarm also has a removable bobbin guard, mute function and an integrated bobbin attachment amongst a host of other features. For more information or to purchase please click on the above link.
The Nash Siren RS-1 Receiveris the first remote receiver with a two way radio allowing you to change the settings on your alarms from the comfort of your bedchair, just like your TV remote at home. The Siren Receiver has 5 volume settings, 5 tone settings, vibration function and an anti theft alarm system. One of revolutionary features of the Nash Siren RS-1 Receiver is the bite detection sensitvity. The Siren Bite Alarm and Receiver measure the speed of the line movement over the roller rather than the distance the line moves. This technology negates false bite indications and achieves optimum sensitivity even in the windiest of conditions. For more information or to purchase please click on the above link.
